President Joe Biden appointed Rita Landgraf for the Assistant Secretary for Aging at the US Department of Health and Human Services.

Landgraf joined the University of Delaware College of Health Sciences in 2017 as a Professor of Practice and Emeritus Health and Human Services Administrator in Residence. She is also the director of the UD Partnership for Healthy Communities, a cross-university, cross-state initiative.

From 2009 to 2017, Landgraf served as Secretary of the Delaware Department of Health and Human Services under Governor Jack Markell. She is also the former president of AARP Delaware, former executive director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness Delaware, and former executive director of the Arc of Delaware.


The Nemours Children’s Hospital welcomed Ali Mirza Onder, MD, in the Department of Pediatrics as Chief of the Division of Nephrology. Dr. Onder has specific expertise and interest in catheter-related bacteremia in long-term hemodialysis catheters and acute kidney injury after cardiac surgery. He is from Istanbul, Turkey, and received his medical degree from Uludag University, Faculty of Medicine, Bursa, Turkey.

Prior to joining Nemours, Onder worked in pediatric nephrology at the Children’s of Mississippi and was an associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Mississippi, Department of Pediatrics. He is an author, editor and reviewer for a number of medical journals, with particular emphasis on infectious complications of vascular access in hemodialysis, outcomes of permanent vascular access and acute kidney injury associated with surgery. cardiac.

Dr. Onder completed his initial pediatric residency at Marmara University Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey; followed by her pediatric internship and residency at Miami Children’s Hospital, Miami, Florida; and his Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Miami/Holtz Children’s Hospital, Department of Pediatric Nephrology, Miami, Florida. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology.

Most recently, as Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of Citizens Bank, Steinthal led the Client Advisory Services legal team covering the retail and commercial banking lines of business, as well as business services and business development. Prior to joining Citizens, Steinthal’s legal savvy was recognized during her more than 11 years at Citigroup, where she started as a member of the Institutional Litigation Group before serving as Chief of Staff of General Counsel and General Counsel for the International Retail Banking business.


WSFS Financial Corporation announced Christine E. Davis like the Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer. In her new role, she will lead all risk management functions, including credit administration, credit risk management, enterprise risk management, real estate services, asset recovery, legal , internal audit, loan review and regulatory compliance.

Davis has worked at WSFS for nearly 23 years, holding many different roles within internal audit. In her most recent role as Chief Auditor, she led and oversaw the continuous development and implementation of a comprehensive and effective internal audit program across the organization, including its subsidiaries.

John E. Kveragas, Jr.. will assume the role of Senior Vice-President, Chief Auditor. Kveragas has over 20 years of audit experience and most recently served as Audit Manager for Bryn Mawr Trust. Kveragas is a CPA, certified information systems auditor, and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bloomsburg University, a graduate certificate in business management from the University of Delaware, and an MBA. from West Chester University.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) announced Michel MarquartCEO of Global Kompass Strategies, Inc., Chairman of the Board of the American Cancer Society.

Marquardt, who has served on the American Cancer Society’s board of trustees since 2018, has also served as president of the American Cancer Society.s former Council of the South Atlantic Division, received the Societys St. George National Award in 2017, and has served on the board of directors of the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network since 2014. His connection to the cancer mission is deeply personal, having tragically lost his first cancer woman at age 30 after she faced two different types of cancer for 18 months.
