Tammy Sawyer new director of communications and marketing for College of The Albemarle – The Coastland Times

Albemarle College has announced that Tammy Watts Sawyer has joined the college as Director of Marketing and Communications on May 2, 2022. Sawyer brings nearly 27 years of professional experience with expertise in communications, public relations , community relations and human resources, noted a COA press release.

Sawyer joins COA from Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools (ECPPS), where she served nearly eight years as Director of Community Schools/Public Information Officer, in addition to serving as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent. and Board of Education for the past three years. She also worked for many years in human resources with ECPPS.

“Albemarle College is an excellent institution that seeks to recruit highly qualified faculty and staff who can help the college practice continuous improvement,” said Dr. Jack Bagwell, President of the COA. “With Tammy Sawyer joining the staff, we are thrilled to have someone with her level of experience and deep ties to the region to help us drive our messaging and marketing efforts forward. We want everyone in our seven county service area to know about COA and what we can do for them. Tammy will help us move forward with these efforts.

Sawyer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management from Ashford University and an Associate of Arts from College of The Albemarle.

It is an honor to be selected for this role, ensuring that our communities are aware of the excellent programs and courses available through COA.
